Did you know that at the beginning of every one of my books there is a quote that I have carefully selected? If you are a Kindle reader, you may have missed this page because Kindle opens at Chapter One. I sometimes even include a picture on the title page that relates to my story. If you have a Kindle, the simple solution is to tap on the top, then "Go To", then tap "Cover." That way you'll get to read it all. I bring this up because I am planning on having either a Family Tree or a List of Characters (or both) in Yesterday's Moon, as the town is growing, it can be difficult to remember from book to book who is who.
“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.” ― Robert Frost

Book Quotes
I have listed the quotes below for each book. Which is your favorite and why?
Yesterday's Tears:
"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love."
Washington Irving
Yesterday's Hopes:
“Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice;
but for those who love,
time is eternity.”
– Henry Van Dyke. 1852-1933
Yesterday's Dreams:
“Into my heart an air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.
- Poem XL”
― A.E. Housman, A Shropshire Lad
Yesterday's Woes:
"A certain amount of opposition is a great help to a man. Kites rise against, not with, the wind."
Lewis Mumford 1895-1990
Yesterday's Blood:
"Time is the most undefinable yet paradoxical of things; the past is gone, the future is not come, and the present becomes the past even while we attempt to define it, and, like the flash of lightning, at once exists and expires."Charles Caleb Colton
Yesterday's Moon:
"Those are the same stars, and that is the same moon, that look down upon your brothers and sisters, and which they see as they look up to them, though they are ever so far away from us, and each other."
Sojourner Truth

Yesterday's Moon.
ReplyDeleteI am a "new fan". I just discovered "A Slip In Time" series and devoured each book. Now I am waiting to see how things turn out for Daniel Kent, and new mother, Fran.
Any idea when book 6 will be out? I'm really concerned about poor Deputy Kent!
Thank you for your comments, ShariA. I am working on Book 6, Yesterday's Moon, now. I hope to have it published in November, so please continue to follow me so you can get the latest updates.
