Ten years after two little boys
unexpectedly arrived in 1882 for a short time-travel visit, they have changed
and grown to near adult status – one a late teen in high school and one a young
man in college. They rarely mention what
happened to them that day in the treehouse. In fact, it is the major cause for their
distancing from one another. Bobby was
very young at the time, so he believed it all to be a dream he had about Peter
Pan and Never Land, but Johnny knew the truth and spent all of his time and
energy making sure his little brother did not remember the events of that day
for fear he would tell anyone who listened where they had been. Later, their perception of events caused a
split between them, causing their parents to wonder what happened to their boys
who were so close when they were younger.
As our story shifts focus to a
new decade, Jay, formerly known as Johnny and one of Yesterday’s Boys, is grown
to manhood and finds himself enlisted in the Army at the beginning of America’s
involvement in World War II. Knowing the
dangers Jay may face, the boys finally talk things out and make amends. When Jay confesses to Bob that he used the
watch to return to the past, and that everything Bob had thought was only a
dream was in reality the truth, the boys realize just how much they need each
other. A new bond is formed; it’s strong
and one that will never be broken again from that day forward.
Bob makes a promise to himself
that he will do everything in his power to help Jay in his mission to get an
important message to the year 1892. Can
he do it? Will he be able to circumvent
all obstacles that get in his way? From the
day he makes his promise, he never waivers in his goal, as he seeks out various
ways to time travel, so he and Jay will never be hindered again in continuing
the Clark family line.
