We made it! The move is complete and needless to say I am exhausted and hurting all over. In fact, I can barely walk because everything aches. But the best part is that my desk and computer is in its new location and as soon as I can see straight again, I can begin to write the next book, but so far I'll be satisfied with the fact that A Double-Edged Sword has reached the Top 100 list in three categories for Kindle, which means it is legitimately an Amazon Best Seller. So thank you to you all for the purchases. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please don't forget to leave your review and rating. I love hearing from you.
“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.” ― Robert Frost

I'm in Mourning
I'm in mourning. It happens every time I finish a book. Yes, I'm thrilled and over the moon for a few days. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, but soon after that, grief sets in. I mourn the loss of my people -- you know, the ones I created myself? I'm like a mother who sent her child to kindergarten for the first time. What are they doing without me to guide them along on their journey through life? Will they know what to do next? But then I remember -- there's an answer to my problem. I can take charge! I can write another book! I can make more people! And that's what I'm doing while A Double-Edged Sword is going through the proofreading and editing process by others. Writing the next one is the only thing that will ease my pain. You can also help ease my pain by reading my books and reviewing them. Aah. Thanks. That feels better. You guys are amazing!

Moving
We're moving -- about 100 yards away. And I'm discovering it takes just as much work and energy as it does to move across the state. Sigh!

Goodreads Giveaway
The 13th Lighthouse
Hey Goodreaders! I have a giveaway going. I'm giving away 100 Kindle copies of The 13th Lighthouse. How do I enter, you ask?
If you have a Goodreads account, simply go to the main page and type in the title of my book in the search window. Click on that when it comes up, and you will see how to enter right under the cover photo. If you win, the book will automatically drop into your Kindle.
This giveaway is only running for a few more days, so give it a whirl. What have you got to lose? And don't forget to share this post and tell all of your friends. I appreciate it.
P.S. This beautiful cover photo was taken by photographer, Bill Reek, from my hometown of Muskegon, Michigan. This is The South Pierhead Light, at Pere Marquette Beach, which is mentioned many times in my books.

A New Me
So, yet again, my Facebook page was hacked. So if you are a follower on FB at Jane O'Brien Author, you will notice a new Photo and Cover Photo. I often wonder why this kind of thing doesn't happen at Twitter, Instagram, or Threads. I have never once been hacked there; have you?

Deep Snow in the North
If you're in one of the states that looks like this today, I can sympathize with you; but maybe whatever you were supposed to do today was canceled, and just maybe you'll have time to read a good book. That's a plus. If you do find yourself with some extra 'me' time, don't forget about my latest book in my series Branches of Time, because there just might be buried gold underneath all of that snow! Of course we won't be able to find out until spring, but remember February is the shortest month of the year, and spring has never failed to arrive yet! It's just around the corner. Positive thoughts.

I'm Injured
Have you noticed that I have been quiet on my Facebook page? That's because two weeks ago I bent over to retrieve something while twisting my body at the same time, and I hurt myself. After an extreme amount of pain for two days, I decided to go to the ER. Many tests later they sent me home with drugs. They called it Tendinopathy. It seems I tore a tendon that connects to the hip. The recovery time for this is three weeks to three months. I have finally been able to give up using a walker, but I move slowly as I'm not totally healed yet. Needless to say this has slowed down my writing considerably. It has been a bad last few months for me as far as productivity, but I think I'm ready to go again.

Visions of Gold
Click here for the newest book in Branches of Time. I'm so happy to bring you the next installment. After reading it one last time before publication, I was just as thrilled and as excited as when I wrote it. Who would have thought that the two lovers, Skye and Rem, would ever be torn apart? Will they get back together? And who is hoping to find gold, but more importantly, where is it? I'm so thrilled by the possibilities that I want to go prospecting myself when Spring returns!
If you're a fan of Diana Gabaldon and you're looking for a new twist on time traveling, please read my series, starting with A Slip in Time, and then continue on with the spinoff series, Branches in Time.
Oh, and don't forget to leave a review. I appreciate it more than you know.
